3/13/20 - 7:30 am - I spoke with our World Strides representative on March 13th.  She has agreed to research all of the questions posed at Thursday's meeting, including the purchase of insurance for the rescheduled trip, 8th/9th grade super trip during spring of 2021 with no 15% restocking fee.  Also, she and I will coordinate with respect to possible travel dates.  Please stay tuned for additional information.

 

3/13/20 - 10:30 am - I received the following information from World Strides:  The group can collectively decide to travel either in June or during spring break 2021.  Either option is available without the loss of the 15% restocking fee.  New insurance purchase will not be available for the 2020 travelers.  If you already have insurance, it will roll over automatically to either option.

 

3/23/20 - 8:15 am - I am posting the following information from World Strides:  There is no longer any restocking fee, which means that 100% of money paid for the trip will be available as a transferable credit.  The credit will not expire until 12/31/22.

I want to thank you for your tremendous patience as we’ve navigated this situation with our partners at WorldStrides. I’ve just spoken with my contact there, and I hope you’ll be pleased with how they’ve cleared a path forward here that will better suit our families!

I’m excited to travel with those of you who can join us on our new trip dates Sunday March 28th 2021 – Friday April 2nd, 2021. You have worked so hard and I know we are all missing out on so much right now, and this trip is going to be a great reward after getting through this difficult period. For the few students who are unable to join on the new travel dates, WorldStrides will honor the Full Refund Program, as we’ve already discussed. Here’s the change. For those who did not purchase FRP, you will also get a similar cash refund, with an adjustment of $299 for just a small portion of WorldStrides’ unrecoverable costs including deposit paid.  Your exact refund amount may vary depending on what you’ve paid in toward your trip cost at this time. 

Due to the high volume of refunds being processed, WorldStrides has asked for your understanding on timing. Families can expect to receive refunds in May.    

The team at WorldStrides asked me to share their appreciation for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times. We hope this change allows the organization to earn your trust going forward, as we continue to navigate this difficult time in our history together.

If you have already indicated your intention to cancel to WorldStrides in writing, no action is required on your part to begin the refund process. Please note your exact refund amount may vary depending on what you’ve paid in toward your trip cost at this time. You can log-in to your account on MyTrip to view what you paid toward your trip.  If you need additional clarification, you can reach out directly to WorldStrides’ Customer Support at 800-468-5899.
